The New Testament Fellowship Story

In the fall of 1974 New Testament Fellowship was born when nine people gathered to meet in the home of Founding Pastors Gary and Sue Carstens.

Pastor Gary had a vision for a church that would accept people from all backgrounds and all faiths. A church that would offer people a second chance in life. A new kind of church in that day, that would not be focused on the rules of dos and don'ts, but a church that loved people just the way they were.

With nine people, very little money, and no meeting facility, New Testament Fellowship Church soon became one of the fastest growing churches in the metro east area of St. Louis. NTF Church soon became a church known for its love and acceptance for all types of people, from all kinds of backgrounds.

From 1974 until 1987 New Testament Fellowship moved to ten different rented facilities as the church quickly grew. In 1987, NTF purchased the land that now houses our current building. Construction began in early 1987 and the Congregation moved into the first phase of building construction on December 8, 1988.

NTF quickly grew to the point requiring multiple services. In 1999 New Testament Fellowship began construction on the second phase of construction, building a new state of the art, high tech, 1000 seat auditorium; including state of the art children and student ministries rooms that now minister in an age appropriate manner from infants to high school age students. The new facility included a comfortable coffee shop and bookstore called the “GoodLife Coffee and Bookstore”.
